The door to the limo opened. It was time. Jennai lifted the hem of her lace gown and stepped out of the limo into the sunshine. Her sister and maid of honor followed behind, holding the lacy train in one hand and Jennai's bouquet in the other. The nerves that had been fluttering in Jennai's stomach all morning were at full force now, but in just a minute she would see her groom and all those nerves and anxious feeling would melt away.
And then just a few hours later, Jennai stepped out into the sunshine a second time. This time she was holding onto her dad's arm. The hem of her dress was given one final fluff and then she crossed the deck, one step at a time, blinking back tears the entire way.
Jennai grew up in Virginia Beach, so when she and Sean decided not to have their wedding in Northern Virginia where they lived, Virginia Beach seemed like the perfect location for their wedding. And since it would be a destination wedding for most of their guests, they turned it into a whole wedding weekend full of celebration! Jennai chose a navy, blush, and gray color palette and used hints of nautical decor throughout the day. My favorite element was the little ship's wheel table numbers. They were such a perfect little touch!
It was so great to work with Amy from A Lively Affair on this wedding! And thank you, Maria, for second shooting this wedding with me!
How good looking is this bridal party? I loved the way the ribbon on Jennai's bouquet tied in with the guys' look! (Tie pun unintended!)
