Girls' Weekend in Asheville

I'm back from our 6th annual JJKC girls' weekend trip! It's hard to believe that we've been doing a yearly trip since 2013! We usually go in the middle of the summer (#teacherproblems) but this year we only had one teacher's schedule to work with, so we were able to go away for spring break. And since one of my friends is going to have a newborn this summer, we were motivated to make it work. I personally would have liked warmer weather, but that's what you get when you go to the mountains the year that spring is running two months behind schedule.

Anyway, this year we went to Asheville and the Biltmore Estate. The rose garden was no where near bloom, but the conservatory was full of tropical flowers and the tulips were magnificent! Here are some of my favorite photos.

Inside the Biltmore, they had an exhibit of costumes from the Titanic on display throughout the house with explanations of what occasions they would be worn for. It's hard to imagine a time when people changed their clothing 4-6 times a day because they wouldn't dream of wearing the same dress for dinner that they wore for tea.

And of course, I had to take a few photos of my sweet friend Karen and her baby bump while we wandered the gardens!

Even though we're only together for less than 72 hours each year, we always have such a great time together! Until next year! (And of course, we had to recreate a photo we took two years ago!)
