Simple Pleasures ~ Starbucks

I've been enjoying Starbucks a little more frequently since the return of the Pumpkin Spice Lattes. I'm pretty sure my local Starbucks keeps the pumpkin syrup in stock all year round, but it's weird enough to get a hot drink when it's 75 degrees outside. It's just plain ridiculous when it's nearly 100.

That said, a Pumpkin Spice Latte isn't the only drink I ever order from Starbucks. Some of my other favorites are Chai Tea Latte, White Chocolate Mocha, and Peppermint Mocha. And if I'm going for the occasional cold drink, I'll order a Java Chip Frappucino.

Always nonfat. And decaf. It MUST be decaf. But that's a post for another day.

Fireworks ~ My Favorite Part of Summer

I love fireworks. I make it a goal to see 3 or 4 fireworks shows every summer. I've tried to take photos at a fireworks show before, but without a tripod, it's pretty much impossible. So Ryan and I were very excited to take photos at the fireworks show this year. And it was so worth it.

I was a little disappointed though with how high they shot the fireworks, because I really wanted to get a few shots with the Norfolk skyline. After this first shot, the fireworks got even higher in the sky.

For this shot, we zoomed a bit during the shot for a fun look.

Bev's Garden ~ Purples

I'm not a gardener. In fact, I kill plants. It's terrible. I can only assume that I over water the "frequent watering" plants and under water the "infrequent watering" plants. My mother-in-law Bev and her mother are the exact opposite. They can grow just about anything. And their flower beds prove it.

A few weeks ago I took some time to play around in their flower beds. I ended up with WAY too many favorites to share in one post, so I'll be splitting it into four posts, starting of course with the purple flowers, because they're the prettiest.

Yeah, I know, this one is actually blue, but whatever.

Simple Pleasures ~ Strawberry Picking

Nothing says May like fresh strawberries.

Cardboard trays in hand, Ryan and I set out to pick strawberries early one Saturday morning.

And as usual, our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. We filled both trays and ended up with somewhere around 10 pounds of strawberries to split between the two of us and my mom. Oops!

You can never have too many strawberries right?

Believe it or not, they're already gone. Time to hit the rows again!
