My favorite thing about Lucy is that first thing in the morning, she just wants loving. As soon as we open the bedroom door (and usually before that) we can hear her meowing from her room. If Ryan opens the door, she comes darting into the bedroom and jumps up on the bed to greet me. (If I go get her, we run back and jump on the bed together.)
And then it's nothing but pets and sweet kitty cuddles for 5 or 10 minutes. She wiggles around and head-butts my hand if I'm not petting her enough. Sometimes she lays down next to me for a few minutes, but she's usually climbing all around the covers. And this is the only time of day when she'll get her nose right up next to yours for kisses, which is the cutest thing and one of the best ways to wake up!
Other fun facts about Lucy:
- She finds a new favorite place to nap (usually somewhere in our bedroom) every couple of weeks, so we never know where to look for her.
- We love watching her play with the tennis ball, but the new favorite is a golf ball. It makes noise when it rolls across the floor, and because our house isn't completely level, it will change directions and roll back to her. It really freaks her out sometimes.
- She is fascinated by people smells and wants to give a thorough sniff to everyone who comes over.
- She likes to sit on the ledge of the tub between the two shower curtains whenever the water is running.
- She really likes to sit in the shoe pile that accumulates by the front door. I think she thinks she is hidden behind it.
