10 Ways You Know You Bought a Fixer Upper

You know you bought a fixer upper when you get really excited about new windows or carpet.

You know you bought a fixer upper when you get one room 85% done and then move onto another room. There's no time for finishing touches when you see all the work that the other rooms need.

You know you bought a fixer upper when you're replacing things that aren't broken.... they're just ugly and outdated.

You know you bought a fixer upper when a tour of the house isn't complete without a look at the 'before' photos.

You know you bought a fixer upper when you're excited to show people the ugly bathroom you haven't touched yet, so they can imagine the whole rest of the house looking like that.

You know you bought a fixer upper when you find yourself describing how 'unhandy' the previous owner was.

You know you bought a fixer upper when you have to remind people that the house is only 30 years old after you've listed off all the improvements you've made.

You know you bought a fixer upper when you find yourself spending a lot of time on little fixes like replacing outlets and installing new trim.

This photo is from last spring when our knockout rose bushes were new. Apparently that's a plant I can handle, because those suckers are HUGE this year! We're hoping to replace our windows and shutters in the next few weeks, so hopefully and updated photo will be coming soon!
