Whitney and Brandon had thought of every detail. Fans & parasols to keep guests cool, custom cornhole boards for cocktail hour, a kids table with blankets and pillows to sit on, a yummy candy bar for late night snacking, and flashlights on the porch to help guide guests back to their cars.
But just days before the wedding a violent storm blew over her parents' home on the river and collapsed the tent that had already been painstakingly set up. And if that wasn't enough to worry about, the weather forecast for Saturday called for thunderstorms and buckets of rain all day long.
But their family and friends wouldn't accept defeat. They banded together to restring lights and fix what had been broken while a new and stronger tent was set firmly in place.
And then Saturday morning came. Whitney refused to believe the weather forecast that still insisted it would be a dreary, drizzly day. Instead, she peeked through the slats of her bedroom window. The large white tent in the backyard was still in place and the ceremony pergola on the sand looked perfect. And above them, a soft cloudy sky with no gray clouds in sight - dream lighting for a wedding day!
And as Whitney and Brandon stood under the pergola and tied two ropes in a tight knot, they looked back at their guests with a smile. You couldn't have picked out the groom's family from the bride's family. Because although this day was the legal joining of the two families, they had bonded long ago.
Whitney made her garter out of pieces of her mother's wedding dress. How beautiful is that?
I loved that these bracelets were Whitney's something blue!
Peeking out the window at the reception tent in the backyard.
We cleared everyone out of the room while Whitney got dressed and then let the bridesmaids back in to see her all ready. It was such a sweet moment!

I loved that Whitney & Brandon took a few moments at the end of the ceremony to hug their parents and grandparents. Aren't they the sweetest?
